What is visual effects in post-production?

Visual effects in post-production involves creating new imagery or enhancing existing film with special effects that cannot be achieved during live-action shooting. Depending on the film and its content, post-production VFX can include adding CGI elements, integrating live-action footage with animated elements and manipulating scenes to create realistic environments, characters and effects to elevate a project’s storytelling and visual appeal.

What is the post-production process of VFX?

The post-production VFX with Sandbox begins with our VFX Supervisor working with your team as early as the scripting phase to plan out the best possible solution for every shot. The object is to always create great work while maximising value on screen.

Once the plan is in place we assemble the right team of artists for your production who work with through the production and post production process.

What VFX services do you provide?

At Sandbox, we offer a comprehensive suite of post-production VFX services. From 3D modelling, CG creatures, matte painting, set extensions, clean up and everything in between.

How do you collaborate with clients during a project?

At Sandbox, we believe in maintaining ongoing open and honest communication at every step in our visual effects process. During each phase of the post-production visual effects process we will utilise various collaboration tools which allow you to review, comment and approve shots from any in the world.

You will also be assigned a dedicated Sandbox VFX Producer who will be contactable 24/7.

How long does it take to complete a VFX project?

This isn’t always easy to answer, as it depends on the complexity and scope of the project. It typically ranges from a few weeks to several months. During the first consultation, the timeline is one element our team will discuss with you. Our artists will then work diligently to ensure they meet your deadline.
